Staff
- The Library has a comprehensive range of resources for use by staff, students and parents. Library staff are happy to assist with curriculum resources, readers and text book requirements.
- Teacher resource materials include reference books, big books and kits to support curriculum needs.
- Staff are able to request bulk loans on curriculum topics for use in the classroom. Requests can be emailed to (library@portside.sa.edu.au) or by contacting library staff at any time.
- The Library is generally open to staff from 8.00am to 4.00pm.
- Teachers are able to book additional times with Library staff for students to borrow reading or research resources.
Bibles
- Please ensure age appropriate bibles are made available to students in the classroom or through a text book loan.
Selection Criteria
- Please read Selection criteria in the Library – Learning Resources section of this Handbook.
- Staff are requested to assist in monitoring suitability of reading materials for their students.
Literacy Programs
- Staff are requested to support students in participating in the Premier’s Reading Challenge, Book Week and National Simultaneous Storytime.
Books Brought from Home
- Students bringing reading material to the College for silent or recreational reading may only bring books which meet the Library’s Selection Criteria, summarised in the Selection criteria Library – Learning Resources section of this Handbook.
