Photography, Recording and Student Copyright

  • Staff are permitted to take photos and/or video footage of students as part of a learning activity, an assessment process or the recording of special events such as camps, excursions, concerts, sporting events and Presentation Nights.
  • Staff are not permitted to provide copies of these images to students or via social media.
  • Unless otherwise approved by the College Principal, staff are not permitted to use their personal devices to take photographs or video footage of students. The College provides cameras for staff use for this purpose.
  • Work samples produced by students may be displayed or published for College purposes including at College events or on the College website.  This may include the display of a student’s original piece of work or the digital representation of the work sample. 
  • Student work may be used for display within the College, at College events or on the College website.
  • Specific parental consent must be sought to include student photos or student work samples for purposes outside the College such as the local newspaper or College website.

  • Administration will advise staff if a student’s photos or work samples are not to be displayed.
  • At times video footage and photos are taken of students as part of a learning activity or assessment process.  This may include the recording of special events such as camps, excursions, concerts, sporting events and Presentation Nights.
  • Parental consent will be sought via the Photography, Recording and Student Copyright Consent Form.
