From early phonics in Foundation to confident debates in Year 6, our Primary School is filled with rich learning, creativity, and growth.
Laying Strong Foundations: F–2 Literacy
Our Foundation to Year 2 learners thrive with a focused and structured daily literacy block. With synthetic phonics at the heart of their learning, students develop vital phonemic awareness and build strong foundations in reading, writing, speaking, and spelling.
But it’s not just about structure—it’s also about curiosity and joy! Our talented teachers bring literacy to life through inspiring writing prompts, engaging author visits, essential questions, captivating images, and excursions designed to help students gather information for their own reports. The joys of learning fill each and every classroom.
Literacy and Leadership: Years 3–6
In Years 3 to 6, students continue their literacy journey with dedication and enthusiasm. They explore a wide range of genres, refine their creative writing, and express themselves with growing clarity and confidence.
One particular standout area is debating. Our students embrace the challenge, honing their public speaking and critical thinking skills through structured arguments and spirited discussions. Whether delivering persuasive speeches or engaging in respectful rebuttals, they demonstrate growth as thoughtful communicators.
Looking Back—and Ahead
What makes the year truly special is the joy and engagement students bring to every English and debating session. From crafting imaginative narratives to passionately defending their viewpoints, they embrace every opportunity to learn and grow.
As we reflect on the many achievements of the past few years, we couldn’t be prouder of our students and staff. It’s a year filled with learning, laughter, and literacy—and we look forward to the exciting chapters still to come.
